My parents used to read to me when I was a kid, and by the time I was 11 I was reading like full novels. I think that really improved my ability to learn tbh. Thank god for my dad literally reading me full tom clancy novels outloud to me when I was like 7. He was so patient with me, he would make up things in real time while reading if the story was super violent or something and would literally stop and explain to me words i didn't know. I think that literally set me up for life as far as comprehension and learning ability.
