@GoyGirl@nicecrew.digital @Decayable@decayable.ink @KiKi88@nicecrew.digital @madcuzbad@nicecrew.digital @technolyze@whinge.town i think a surprising amount of it has to do with how you were raised. My parents used to read to me when I was a kid, and by the time I was 11 I was reading like full novels. I think that really improved my ability to learn tbh. Thank god for my dad literally reading me full tom clancy novels outloud to me when I was like 7. He was so patient with me, he would make up things in real time while reading if the story was super violent or something and would literally stop and explain to me words i didn't know. I think that literally set me up for life as far as comprehension and learning ability.

@Tony@clew.lol @Decayable@decayable.ink @GoyGirl@nicecrew.digital @KiKi88@nicecrew.digital @madcuzbad@nicecrew.digital I think early internet access before Web 2.0 and 3.0 and being into novels and poetry is what helped me not be totally retarded. My parents were pretty zonked out and uninvolved, actually ended up having to teach myself to read at like 7(used a program on school library computer )

Awww... that's sweet, & very cool, but no... my son is literally like level 2 autistic & retained a couple infant reflexes. He barely spoke before 4. He's tarded. My oldest son read at 7th grade level by 1st-2nd grade. Is what it is. I don't sugarcoat things, though does sadden me a lot at times. He's 6 now & learned alphabet, counting to 20 or more, writing better, but he may never work or live independently 😕
