@LucieLazerEyez@labyrinth.zone based on some quick testing, seems like the only option i'd consider even remotely viable as an actual Discord alternative it has its issues, but unlike Fluxer it doesn't ape Discord's aggressively predatory monetisation scheme, and unlike Matrix it actually functions some of the FOSS crowd is going to flip out about it not having federation on the roadmap, but if you actually look into it it becomes evident that the devs are open to it if it can be done without gargantuan effort and major UX compromises; plus there's other minor similar stuff they'll fly off the handle about, but to me it just looks like the devs are focusing on making it a good platform first and focusing on extensibility and such second one thing of note is that the new Stoat client is still unfinished, but afaict the more solid old Revolt web client still works too
