@augieray Because in this case it’s not about what states do, it’s about what Senators vote for. States don’t control their senators/representatives, and votes are rarely for only one thing.
Like, if this was in place, the Republican house could -today -pass a bill that said “ban abortion nationwide. Also fund FEMA.” What would you expect a Senator to do with that if they’re both pro-choice and pro-disaster-relief?
