John sprained his ankle chasing the ranger to the vault, and, after finding Elvis' dead radioactive brother, he stops to tell Elvis that he and his daughter will have to repopulate the Earth like Adam and Eve.
Later outside, one of the mutants bothers the daughter but won't follow her into the pool, so we learn they're afraid of water or something.

One of the other boys I don't care about tries to rape the daughter in the woods, but the other girl (his GF/wife/partner, I guess) yells at him, giving her a chance to run away. She then tries to tempt him to having a nice midnight swim instead, even though it's always daytime in this movie. He is not interested so she goes swimming on her own while he creepily skulks around. #monsterdon #InTheYear2889
