when i started transition, i would say absolutely laughable shit like "im lucky, i don't have a lot of gender dysphoria" i was very, very wrong.
i went into vaginoplasty—three years into transition, and willingly undertaking massive surgical trauma—still convinced i didn't "really" have bottom dysphoria. yeah.
and now that i put down that backpack? friends, i had SO MUCH bottom dysphoria. i just couldn't really perceive it until it was gone.

@miriamrobern@dice.camp see I still have no idea whether or not I have bottom dysphoria I used to really want a vag, but then my orchi went bad and it took a month to recover, I'm like hey I guess I don't need bottom surgery after all... It's fine if I never have sex! And like I recognize the difference but it genuinely feels as if I don't have bottom dysphoria. I think about it and all I think about is lying there for a month with the orchi, unable to move.
