I’m in my 50s and the last time I gave my older neighbor a ride to the store she came out and proudly told me about how she ripped in to the young cashier because she couldn’t immediately tell her where the garlic bread was located.
She was proud of herself and I was horrified and I’ve avoided taking her to the store since because I don’t want to be responsible for that and I don’t want them to think I am like that because those kids are lovely.

@maggiejk@zeroes.ca It's not linked to age in any way. This is in fact childish behaviour, which sadly many legal adults have. A lot of people never really grow up. We excuse it to some extent in younger people, for lack of knowledge and experience, but adults have much less excuse. Plenty of adults also devise personal philosophies or rationalizations for such conduct, but they all reduce to essentially childish motivations. In this case, othering a complete stranger for how they look.
