I'm not making a screen-reader that someone 100% needs to rely on which is a bit different, but I am making a tool that people may find they *do* rely on at certain points.
We live in fascinating times.

That ship has saled and my opinion on that doesn't matter for this argument anyway. When a screen reader is made with no understanding of the framework, you risk breaking a user's only access method to their device. You can't rely on them having a second one on standby with a shortcut ready to enable it.
