@isagalaev@mastodon.social @grumpybozo@toad.social To simplify, the power supply is an ideal voltage source and maintains a constant supply voltage, the actual current consumption is entirely controlled by the device via Ohm's law, the usable current is in principle infinite. The so-called "output current of a power supply" is better named "It will maintain the illusion of an ideal source, up until this point." When the current consumption hits that limit, the supply voltage collapses (and the power supply becomes unusable for that device, if the device is completely passive without any controller to reduce the current consumption).
