@jaybird110127@dragonscave.space I'm curious about why you chose to emulate an Echo II by default this time, and have a special script for BEX, rather than emulating an Echo II Plus by default. Are there other disks that don't work with the emulated Echo II Plus?

  • @matt@toot.cafe MAME's emulation of the Echo II Plus adds what's almost certainly a DC offset to the audio, which is annoying. What this basically means is that if you're editing audio with a DC offset, and you play/pause where there's supposed to be silence, you'll actually hear pops since there's a really low frequency audio source there. At least that's how I understand it. The Echo II emulation doesn't do this, but BEX doesn't seem to work with MAME's Echo II emulation, just Echo II Plus.
