@ahltorp@mastodon.nu I assume that at least there'll be an appeals process for when someone added you without consent. As to the other question: the issue is not technical - because of imbalances of power you may not feel you have the ability to say anything other than giving approval. We can wish it weren't so, but it is.

    @neuralreckoning@neuromatch.social I understand that it's a problem, but what you wrote was: "The lead author handles the submission and doesn't ask for your permission to send the final version" and "What you didn't know is that someone else on this paper at the last minute made some edits" The above means that they couldn't have prevented it, but what you're saying now is that they were forced to. Two very different scenarios. The second happens all the time, and is despicable, but not new.
