"The lead author handles the submission and doesn't ask for your permission to send the final version"
and
"What you didn't know is that someone else on this paper at the last minute made some edits"
The above means that they couldn't have prevented it, but what you're saying now is that they were forced to. Two very different scenarios. The second happens all the time, and is despicable, but not new.

@neuralreckoning@neuromatch.social Why can't approval be incremental on a preprint service? You can have a tentative list of authors where not all have approved, why not, the whole preprint process is about having tentative things anyway.
