@maxoakland@mastodon.social Yeah, same. I don't have the hard data to support that hunch (hence why it's a tinfoil hat theory), but it's something I'd love to see investigated.

    @kaye@cathode.church @maxoakland@mastodon.social There is quite a bit of literature on this—but the summaries that the personalized/surveillance advertising industry likes to circulate are generally omitting the best papers and ignoring the best parts of the body copy in the papers they do cite https://blog.zgp.org/advertising-personalization-good-for-you/
