[unpopular opinion puffin] I think @pluralistic ’s approach won’t fix anything. In the best case it’ll result in a cat and mouse game for a while, but the circumventers will end up on the losing side. We’re already seeing this: Jailbroken phones cannot run banking apps or certain subscription apps due to effective device attestation. The technical toolkit to prevent circumvention is there and relying on exploiting individual bugs is not a future-proof strategy.
