@uc@mastodon.scot @finnmyrstad@eupolicy.social @noybeu@mastodon.social I think with the Guardian it's pay to avoid advertising, rather than pay to avoid being tracked? You can be advertised at without 'personalisation' and pay to avoid that.
For myself I do neither, I use an adblocker.

It’s high risk, and I was surprised to see it on the Guardian If a user can subsequently easily opt out of tracking, before being tracked at all, that would mitigate 1/2
