New neighbors moved into the apartment below mine, removed a built-in closet and found that the back of the closet also held a bunch of cables coming out of the wall from the floors below and going back into the wall to the floors above a few feet further. One of those cables seems to have been the phone wiring carrying my residential internet connection, which is now in pieces. And so, from one moment to the next, I find myself in hell between a technically incompetent (and miserly) landlord, a telco, an ISP and without a residential internet connection. And I'm not a wire person either. Fun times ahead. I'm thinking about getting an unlimited 5G data plan so I can at least have more or less the same internet as I had on the wire while wrangling all of the aforementioned into fixing the wiring.
