that foreign, it’s was there until Vatican II and still persists in the looney latin end.

@Colman@mastodon.ie @stavvers@masto.ai Look, I was raised Orthodox and it's kind of the reason I'm vegetarian today: you basically spend half the year as a strict vegan who for strange historical reasons can eat shellfish. Lent is a time spent several hours STANDING at church per day, prostrating yourself and repeating litanies and singing modal hymns. Orthodox laity are closer to Catholic monks than anything the US can conjure up in its prosperity-gospel religions.
