btw I'm well placed to recognise all of this because one of my favourite recreational activities is trolling catholics from an orthodox perspective

@stavvers@masto.ai at least now I feel like I better understand why folks like Rod Dreher decided that Orthodox Christianity was more congenial to them than Catholicism—they must surely be craving discipline (at least, as a sentimental thing—I doubt very much that Dreher &c. are personally into religious disciplines) and feeling that the Western churches have gone too soft and accommodating.
