@q@social.quotequack.xyz Aside from the joke in the comic, Gaydar is yet another example of how our brains (all brains, in fact) are pattern matching (creating) engines. Sensory input is interpreted and directs our behaviors to react and respond to what we perceive, as a survival mechanism. Even living things without actual brains (bacteria, plants) learn to detect patterns in their environment to survive. AI is also all about pattern recognition.
