A friend is a member of the #DAR and is a local delegate to the recent national convention. She says there was a faction that tried to amend the bylaws to preclude the admission of #trans members, forcing the hiring of a professional parliamentarian to run the discussion up to the eventual vote on the motion, which was voted down. Proponents vowed to take it to Congress, and SCOTUS, since their charter was apparently created by Congress. #til

#whatImReading is Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s Take Me To Your Leader. It’s all his take on the old UFO/ET business. Mildly amusing. He covers the history and all the ins and outs of UFOlogy. But what I’ve never seen an answer to is, why do UFOs have running lights at all? Why would they need them? If they were hiding they wouldn’t have them for sure. If you like Tyson you’ll like this book. #bookstodon
