reminds me of two novels i really liked when i read them:
• “the caves of steel” by isaac asimov: crimes commited in a different city, an entity (robot) that can read minds, solving crimes with mind reading abilities
• “the whole man (telepathist)” by john brunner: the deformities, telepathy, perceiving colours and shapes, brought to somewhere to solve crimes
both happen on earth, so prob none is the end of your search
(might read them again as they’re back in my mind)
