We can't rely on the USA for science.
We shouldn't rely on the USA for science.
If a brief gap in science is what is stopping us from decentralising away from the USA, that's not good.

@rzeta0@mastodon.ie Do you work in science? Then you know that science about global topics doesn't know borders of nations. Scientists discuss facts, they rely on data that have been repeatedly verified in experiments ... so long as others find other data, discuss, make experiments ... to prove the old ones or find new answers. Therefore, scientists from different countries work together. European scientists work with data from the US, or China, or any small African state, as long as they @superflippy@mastodon.xyz
