@Retreival9096@hachyderm.io @deviantollam@defcon.social The fact that this "agent” negligently discharged his gun that way shows that he lacked the most basic training, which is outrageous for anyone in any law enforcement role. Gun accidents are caused by arrogance and stupidity, not by the lack of safety mechanisms. If you were seen at any gun shop or shooting range carelessly pointing even an unloaded gun at people or property for even an instant, you would be yelled at or kicked out.

@Retreival9096@hachyderm.io @deviantollam@defcon.social If it were up to me, we would require every gun owner to undergo basic operational and safety training and demonstrate their comprehension of the above in a practical test at a range. They would also need to pass a test on the legal use of the gun. They already have something like this for concealed weapon permits, but it should be required of everyone IMO.

@freediverx@mastodon.social @Retreival9096@hachyderm.io @deviantollam@defcon.social 'Gun accidents are caused by arrogance and stupidity" As an Australian, gun access seems to be the root cause of gun "accidents" But maybe that is covered in your "arrogance and stupidity".
