Some of us run several desktop and laptop systems and platforms concurrently and limiting all options to one "main" system eliminates substantial diversity, such as snaps on Ubuntu vs. AUR on Arch vs. Flatpak.
Since you didn't ask,
• Ubuntu GNOME with forced Wayland and only Flatpak on AMD,
• NixOS GNOME Wayland nix Flatpak, dual booted with
• Fedora GNOME Wayland Flatpak AMD
• Manjaro GNOME Wayland AUR Flatpak on Intel
• FreeBSD blackbox
