@nigel@unsociable.lowkey.party I guess the phenomenon is not completely new of people feeding themselves to what they perceive to be the best lion, while talking about how this lion is clearly going to chase off the other lions, and they are part of this lion in the sad sense that the lion is what it eats. What is new I think is that before it was celebrity-worship, whereas now increasingly many developers' friends are evil-future-eliza running on the celebrity's gas-guzzling server farms. @jackdaniel@functional.cafe
