@janet@weirder.earth @timnitGebru@dair-community.social From what I can find, it is satire (which was also the earlier take from kron4 https://www.kron4.com/news/technology-ai/replacement-ai-satire-billboard/). I found an endorsement by Chase Hardin https://www.linkedin.com/posts/chase-hardin_new-strategies-to-control-ai-activity-7303504824648560641-5RpQ of Anthony Aguirre's essay "We must not build AI to replace humans" on Keep The Future Human. Aguirre is the Executive Director of Future of Life, and there may be problems with this institute, but the message is so diametrically opposite to Replacement AI that this thing must be a parody campaign.

@SylviaFysica@scholar.social @janet@weirder.earth @timnitGebru@dair-community.social Humbert, their hyper addictive chatbot for kids, shares a name with the manipulative paedophile in “Lolita”. I think it’s satire too.

  • @SylviaFysica@scholar.social @janet@weirder.earth It looks like satire but on the so-called Future of Life Institute, The Future of Life Institute was started by someone who believed that only the building of so-called AGI would stop us from the "cosmocalypse" BTW. And that even climate change didn't post an "existential risk to humanity," not even the collision of galaxies did, only AI. It's either utopia or apocalypse according to them and all because of "super intelligence."
