I'm also considering a static website again. Like back in 2001. Sigh.
I think one of the things about Cloudflare is not most the caching, but also the filtering out bots. But the idea seems contrary to the open Web for me. Sigh.

@vrandecic@mas.to @openrisk@mastodon.social @kaffeeringe@social.tchncs.de That does seem to be the way of the future! :( I've done that with a couple of sites recently, but it does feel a bit like I'm just pushing traffic to the Internet Archive instead! (Because they're sites that host lots of archive scans.) There's a long-term resilience in static sites that is somewhat comforting though (at least for the time being).
