@tchambers@indieweb.social If the visited server utilizes IndieAuth or OpenWebAuth, to authenticate the user w the home server, then it can take the action on behalf of the home server wo the user first visiting the home server. No? @mike@flipboard.social

@tchambers@indieweb.social @mike@flipboard.social This is a very sticky problem to get around. For a bunch of *very* good reasons two sites that don’t share a second level domain also don’t share any context. A potential solution would be to standardize on a protocol prefix like “fedi://“ for shared links and then register clients/instances as the opener for that proto. But lots of potential usability/compatibility issues there and not a great way implement a fail back
