This is a very sticky problem to get around. For a bunch of *very* good reasons two sites that don’t share a second level domain also don’t share any context.
A potential solution would be to standardize on a protocol prefix like “fedi://“ for shared links and then register clients/instances as the opener for that proto. But lots of potential usability/compatibility issues there and not a great way implement a fail back

User could even switch between multiple accounts. I can imagine this in a Windows shell; I am new to iOS, would it work on an iOS shortcut, I wonder...
