@moof@cupoftea.social 1) https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BChlkreisbahn apparently it's only gauged to GA which is pretty tiny by Austrian standards. it would look much less out of place in france 2) "when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail". i have a pretty comfy pipeline for aggregating point data into hexagons and making maps, so i used it. it's also why the high speed lines have lots of gaps. if i end up having to draw lines lots i will eventually get a comfy pipeline for that too

    @moof@cupoftea.social i fought with my tooling to be able to do lines and i think essentially i was right to use hexagons https://compute.olie.science/expo/?data=loading_gauge/2026-03-23.geojson#x=9.9089&y=49.4135&z=4.5733 much harder to read (with the added comedy bonus that if you zoom in far enough you can't see anything because the railway lines overpower it)
