@barefootliam@floss.social could you do that kind of thing client side? You can access the pixel data of images from JavaScript now, and draw custom pixel data to a canvas element. The browser will let the user right click save the canvas contents, or you can ask for a PNG of the canvas contents.
That would remove all the server side image editing overhead of the website feature.

@jamesh@aus.social yes, you’re right, a client-side version may make more sense these days & there’s almost certainly image processing libraries that would support it. For the time being the bots seem shut out. Tempted to return nonsense text just to confuse AI scrapers :-)
