I needed a fence / wall for the studio shop that would provide a decent level of security, not require a permit (and that was a fun bit of research, let me tell you,) be easy to build without hiring contractors, *and* look reasonably good and cohesive. I also wanted to make it usable as a display backdrop for planters and wall decor. I think I did all right...
