@epistemophagy@mastodon.lol Totally agree, and I look disparagingly at Mastodon’s Linux FOSS roots for the source of that elitism. I’ve for sure been subjected to it when I (who struggles with the most basic Linux stuff) tried to spin up a #Hubzilla instance… which was a software platform I only knew about because of Mastodon! Mastodon is comparatively 3000% easier, friendlier, and more woke. And this is why Hubzilla is entirely filled with bearded old white guys who only post about Hubzilla, and who wonder why the platform isn’t more popular, yet think it is popular “enough.” (Hubzilla’s ENTIRE user base is about equal to one mid-tier Mastodon server, btw… at least as far as I can tell.) Oh yeah… and the central Hubzilla support forum doesn’t ban obvious fascists.
