Years ago my beloved grandmother would tell us how lucky we were to be born in the U.S. I'm glad she's not around to see the state of the country her brother fought for in WW II.
Carry on, Europe. And know this American holds no animosity towards you for having to do what you must to secure your own stability, prosperity, and safety. I will be rooting for you.
Maybe we can repair our relationship when America emerges from this darkness. We'll be beat up and battered, but my hope is we find the road to redemption on the world stage.
