@janeishly@beige.party I think the real answer is that the USA used to be much closer to Sweden than it has been recently. We used to provide assistance to most of the Western countries. Even when Putin invaded Ukraine, the US joined in coalition with European allies to address that threat. You are, of course, correct that the systems of government, and the services they provide, come from very different viewpoints. We've done Putin's job for him. When the Kremlin's happy, you know you're wrong.
