Growing interest in the publish-review-curate model illustrates this transition. It shows how dissemination of scientific knowledge can be accelerated, how peer review can be organized more efficiently and how curation can go beyond binary accept/reject decisions.

Challenge of meaningful dialogue (2025-…): This is the challenge of facilitating truly meaningful conversations between researchers. This requires abandoning the idea that all research outputs need to be peer reviewed.
