But I imagine data centers and such pretty much have to focus on the bigger drives even if they cost more because they're storing hundreds of terabytes even for individual tasks. As I said though, remember, the difference is non-linear. If those who wanted the 24s were just switching to building arrays with smaller drives, the price difference would be linear. That said, if your goal was 24TB before, you weren't buying SSDs for that anyway. It wasn't even on the table. You'd have to build a really expensive array... Even at this price this is probably cheaper than building 24TB with SSDs was before everything went up thanks to Altman and the general evil of the memory maker companies.
