man oh man, getting tide data for a webpage is a fucken chore, unless you want to be limited to like 10 calls a day or pay real money for a commercial api. The way I was doing it was convoluted, and worked, but relied on another project that turns out is a bit janky and often returns fucked data from scraping the BOM html. So now I am learning about a project called Neaps (https://github.com/openwatersio/neaps/tree/main) that is super fucken cool, and also secondary port offset tables which I can get one-time per year from the BOM to do some maths.
Exhausting. Why bother!?
Because I am an idiot, that's why.
