I have a Framework Laptop 13 so I'm using its inbuilt fingerprint reader: https://frame.work/products/fingerprint-reader-kit?v=FRANFF0001 It can be purchased separately from the laptop, but would require a fair amount of hardware homebrew to work with another computer so ymmv.
