@cthos@mastodon.cthos.dev thanks, I appreciate the information! I really hope that they fix some of these glaring omissions. I would really need sleep & external displays to work to give this a try, it's a pity that aarch64 has broken all the assumptions that make "just install linux and give it a try" work on so much hardware

@glyph@mastodon.social The display issue is interesting because I _think_ it works via a USB dongle or the HDMI port on the Pro, but yeah, it's fiddly. The sleep thing... yeah, no one has gotten Sleep to work nearly as well as Apple has.

@glyph@mastodon.social @cthos@mastodon.cthos.dev I have been daily driving Asahi Fedora Remix (43, now 44) on a MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) for about six weeks, and I concur with basically everything here. Power consumption is great while you're using it, bad when it's "sleeping." I have a real HDMI port and plugging an external monitor into that worked right away, and KDE offered all the mirror/extend/ignore options you would expect. I'm often on virtual meetups and Bluetooth headphones and mic work.
