Glad I didn't know about ?. I always use / followed by N.
To be honest, I don't think I would have used it even if I knew. N searching forward and n backwards seems like a case of "if not not not" in my mind.

@leeloo@c.im I suppose that might be why @hal_pomeranz@infosec.exchange mentioned the use of [/][Return] or [?][Return] to search forwards or backwards for the same string as last time, because in those, the direction of the next search is absolute rather than 'same as last time'.
