@simontatham@hachyderm.io @barubary@infosec.exchange Instead of using n/N, you can also just hit / or ? again with no pattern to repeat the previous search. I believe this is the reason for the behavior you’ve discovered.

But if I had, I think I'd still have expected that when you press / and then Return, the action would happen on the Return, including the change of remembered search direction. Everything up to then is "still deciding what action to take". Return is the commit key: "I've decided, now please do it."
