I will say this about it: none of this is legal by any stretch in the European Economic Area. Or in any jurisdiction that is a signatory to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime. /cc @briankrebs@infosec.exchange

@whvholst@eupolicy.social @briankrebs@infosec.exchange I can’t imagine this being legal in the US either, presuming of course that we still had a government with any interest in enforcing existing laws. The very notion of them claiming this is done with the user’s consent is beyond the pale. And just goes to demonstrate tech’s relationship with the concept of consent in the first place.
