@OH3CUF@mastodon.radio This does not violate EU law. However, I agree that we could do a better job making users aware, and giving them an easier way to opt out. I've added issues to the apps asking for exactly this.

@JP_Bennett@hackaday.social I'm really not an expert on law but I consider the things the app sending as unique fingerprint. They are giving IP, device information (localization, model, etc.), some "temporary" Unique ID, connected Node information. All these information makes the user unique in perspective of DataDog.

@JP_Bennett@hackaday.social @OH3CUF@mastodon.radio Wouldn't a better option to "do a better job making users aware," and "giving them an easier way to opt out," be "do a better job of making them aware when they opt in to something that benifits our bottom line, but probably doesn't benefit them?"
