@fredy_pferdi @boogerly @thomas_klopf It is not permitted to use encryption on radio amateur bands so can&#39;t use #Reticulum there.

@fredy_pferdi @boogerly @thomas_klopf It feels like you are confusing globally regulated radio amateur usage with license free usage that most LoRa applications use. LoRa user still needs to follow the regulation of the specific radio band. E.g. in EU SRD860 band is mostly used for Meshtastic, The Things Network, etc. but it doesn&#39;t have anything to do with amateur radio. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short-range_device#SRD860

@fredy_pferdi @boogerly @thomas_klopf Yes. And my original toot was about using Reticulum on amateur radio bands. This is illegal on most jurisdictions (I couldn&#39;t find any exceptions).

@Ronguest At club we had a broken but still conducting glass fuse. The wire inside tube was separated from the end cap, but still made contact (most of the time). While operating the fuse heated up like crazy and caused voltage to drop so much that the radio power cycled itself randomly when transmitting.

The yearly cost of radio amateur license in Finland is going to almost double beginning of 2026. The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency #Traficom increases their basic frequency fee and due to this radio amateur license will cost 35€ per year instead of old 18€ per year. This cost increase is for every callsign in use so especially clubs running multiple repeaters, APRS and other automatic sites will take a big hit on their budget. https://www.traficom.fi/en/news/traficom-service-fee...
