@hgrsd@hachyderm.io Furthermore, there are certain other things more troublesome as topic, though maybe not specifically debatable for children's literature, yet, maybe, as an example:
(Illegal) Drugs almost exclusively appear as bad in movies and TV shows. Don't get me wrong, drugs and addition are serious topics and shouldn't be taken too lightly, especially not around younger audiences.

@hgrsd@hachyderm.io Though, the framing of drugs recently changed with characters more casually smoking pot when parts of the world legalized it (remember, "illegal" was the keyword here, though, arbitrary as it may be). I remember, drugs were quite demonized in my childhood and youth. Did it work? Somewhat but it might also have had the opposite effect on some. But I digress … 6/
