If it is not part of the plot, it would distract from the plot, because viewers would constantly wonder when this would be explained by the plot." To be clear: As a queer person myself, I hate this reaction. This shouldn't be a thing. Okay, but if this thing isn't a plot point, something else has to be. It can't be this. 4/

    @hgrsd@hachyderm.io Furthermore, there are certain other things more troublesome as topic, though maybe not specifically debatable for children's literature, yet, maybe, as an example: (Illegal) Drugs almost exclusively appear as bad in movies and TV shows. Don't get me wrong, drugs and addition are serious topics and shouldn't be taken too lightly, especially not around younger audiences. 5/
