We then took on a freehold in Bath. It was a beautiful building but it needed building. When we got there it had the outside walls and that was it. We put floors, windows, a cellar and toilets in. We published our exploits on social media (when it was good) but mostly through the Bath chronicle! On opening day we'd only just finished painting the floor and the chron journalist left with paint on his soles. There was only one toilet ready and it was lit by fairy lights.

Bath to feature Brew Dog (in the very early days they were exciting, we didn't know yet they were absolute arses), Thornbridge, Arbor ales, Bristol beer factory, Hopcraft etc etc. We won pub of year 3 years in a row. When my second child came along was when I decided that pub life was not compatible with being a dad. I was working so we asked our best local brewery to train me to brew beer and set up a brewery. We won best strong beer in the entire country in 2013 and it broke us. #introduction
