The “G” in GPT means General.
In a world of niche markets that might not work for plausible pattern-matching.
But the valuable use cases involve specificity.
And esoteric information was never in the training data of frontier models.

@paninid@mastodon.world I mean, it actually means "Generative Pretrained Transformer", but youre right that general language models aren't good at specific tasks and that esoteric knowledge is particularly lost in the GPT type training. @MisuseCase@twit.social @scottjenson@social.coop
