@jackofalltrades@mas.to One thing that always grinds my gears is when people use the argument “nuclear power isn’t an option to decarbonize because it’s too slow and expensive to build,” never mind that you can bang out a reactor in 2-3 years if you settle on a standardized design, but the fine print is *it’s too slow and expensive to build if you want to turn a quick profit in the next 2-3 quarters.*

@MisuseCase@twit.social @jackofalltrades@mas.to Nuclear is only ever pushed by people that want to slow down renewables. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/08/26/swedish-government-removes-nuclear-power-promise-website/ The Swedish right wing goverment promised 10 new nuclear pwoerplants and cutting renewables. Whats left of that promise is cutting the renewables. I am wating for the nuclear renaissance since 2004. First Thorium Reactors now SMR. The Nuclear Industry Overpromises and underdelivers and that not mentioning this: https://www.cnbc.com/2022/05/23/russia-dominates-global-nuclear-reactor-and-fuel-supply-chains.html
